CFA May 2008 Ministry Report
Care For All International  2008-06-03

The month of May was full of various activities and victories in Christ for which we are very thankful and blessed. God was at work through all of us to accomplish His purposes in Bulgaria and on the international front. It is really wonderful to see how God opens doors for us to bless people and to bring to them a bit more hope, joy and light for the future – this is what makes the Christian ministry, which is otherwise full of challenges, worthwhile!

At the CoG Theological College yet another school year came to a close. As all of the rest 10 years since the founding of our denominational educational institution, this year was full of victories and accomplishments as well as many obstacles and difficulties, but in all of that God showed us once again that He is the One who sustains the College. It is not because of our efforts and work that the College is a reality now in Bulgaria; it is because of God's grace and His providence. We are so thankful to God for all this and for seeing yet another class of students graduate and enter into ministry as they have been called by God.

The College building continued to serve as a home for the rest of our social and educational ministries. We are so thankful for these facilities that we have at hand to be able to provide care to various groups of people. Of course, one of these ministries are the computer courses that we provide for socially challenged people. The current course is designed for high school and undergraduate/ graduate students from poor families. It is free and gives these young people computer knowledge that is much needed in our days for better job opportunities. This course is also a vehicle for us to show the younger generation of Bulgarians the way of Christ and to tell them of our hope and the meaning of life. Our coordinator Irina Mineva is a dedicated minister who loves the Lord, and has a big heart for her students.

Another social ministry that is located in our school building since 2003 and functions in a miraculous way (thanks to the sacrificial giving of believers from the USA) is our feeding and socialization program towards elderly people, most of whom live with no more than $ 40 a month and barely survive on their own. This past month we continued to provide them with a warm meal every day, along with fellowship, care and understanding. At the end of this month, the 6 month period for this group was up, and we had to part ways with these precious people, but before we did that, we organized a special chapel service for them where together with our students and staff we worshipped the Lord and prayed for our elderly friends. Then as it is our custom, we presented each one with a bag of groceries as a small token of our appreciation and our love for them. Next month we will be welcoming our next group of senior citizens in need. May God help us to reach them as well and to form friendships and to share with them the saving message of Christ.

The third social initiative, which was undertaken in our school building this month, was connected with our ministry to abandoned children living in institutions. With our new "smiling van" we were able to take a group of children from the Maria Teresia Home and to bring them to our building, where we organized for them a day of fun activities. This gave us yet another opportunity to show them our care and our commitment to be there for them no matter what. They need to know that someone out there thinks of them and has not forgotten them – and that's what we wanted to show them!

Of course, our ministry was not confined only to educational and social activities at our facilities. We were also heavily involved out, of the field, with church related initiatives under our Church Care Program. A newly formed team of several pastors and church ministers, led by our coordinator Stefko Zlatarov provided care, preached and encouraged believers and participated in special church events. (1) One important event was the street outreach in the village of Gorno Alexandrovo, where we invited people to accept Christ and take a step of faith towards God. (2) Another important event was a pastors' gathering that we organized in the Roma neighborhood of Sliven, where we fellowshipped with several local pastors and listened to their needs and concerns, and after that all of us – our team, the pastors and the local believers of El Hanaan CoG had a worship service.(3) A very special event was held in Sliven at the end of the month, where our team participated with a big gift (a birthday cake) and a message from the Word of God by Rev. Stefko Zlatarov. This was the birthday of one of our beloved pastors – Stefan Chakarov. (4) Thanks to our financial partners we were able to provide support for a local Stara Zagora Pastor to travel on a weekly basis to several newly planted village churches and to encourage the believers through the Word of God. Also responding to the need of the church in Gergevetc, we provided a small, but needed amount of money, for renovations of the local church building. (5) Our team assisted Pastor Todor from the church in Elenino in his initiative to do a street outreach. Our team provided not only moral support, but also the equipment that we have so that the outreach could be really effective. Many came to Christ that night, but the biggest victory was that one whole family gave repented and joined the church – praise God!!! (6) Last, but not least, our team made a research and chose two worthy and respected pastors – Sasho Vasilev and Asen Mitkov, to whom they decided to award laptop computers to enhance their work, since these men are not only leaders of their local churches, but also have important ministerial activities in the villages around their home towns. All these activities that we were able to undertake were possible thanks to the dedicated efforts of our team as well as the financial giving of our partners abroad!

On the international front, May was also a very productive month, full of blessings and ministry opportunities. (1) We (Dinko Zlatarov & Family) made a ministry trip to Nebraska and Minnesota.  Our first stop was Omaha, where we had a very productive meeting with the Administrative Bishop of the Midlands Region of the COG – Rev. David Gosnell. We discussed with him the upcoming camp meeting, which will be help in the beginning of June, and our participation in it. He encouraged us to present the ministry in Bulgaria and to make the believers aware of the mission opportunities abroad. Then we headed towards Minneapolis, where we participated as special guest speakers at the 7th Annual Evangelical Conference of the Bulgarian churches in America. This was a very special and heartwarming event, since we were able to see once again many people with whom we have served together in Bulgaria in the past, and to see how God is using them now to minister here in the US. (2) Our missionary to Greece Ivan Todorov is toiling for God in this difficult mission field. At the end of this month he organized his first meeting with other Bulgarians living in Greece and they had a dinner together and discussed their future meetings. Ivan was able to share with them their faith experience and the need for regular meetings for mutual support and for uplifting each other in prayer. Let's hope that soon they will have a small home group that will later turn into a church plant for Bulgarian and other ethnic immigrants. Pray with us for this important ministry and its coordinator Ivan!

As a Christian Ministry venturing in Missions we have become comfortable partnering and ministering with groups and families from so many countries… Well so many and yet never before we had the honor to serve the Lord with a family from Norway. So for the first time we were to host Norwegians and we had no idea what to expect and let me tell you right away that Tormod and Anita Olsen - an army of just two literally filled our van, our towns and villages, our world. Since we have never met them before – we were praying that God was sending us at least some normal people to work with but it was such a surprise to discover that they were far from normal – they were as crazy as we are and folks so in love with Jesus and his flock. WOW! A week started and ended like it was just 7 hours – we felt in love with the Olsens seeing how they jumped straight into the deep waters of the Bulgarian ministry context without hesitation and restrains – they began loving on people, ministering with their unique talents and uplifting the hurting people with a contagious spirit of enthusiasm and Jesus love. WOW!! Sofia, Geman, Petrich, Panaguyrishte, Levski, Teteven – day after day the people of Bulgaria from the various churches found their Spiritual Vitamins, encouragement, specific word of God through prophecy, healings, freedom and salvation through the self-sacrificial, giving and warm ministry of these folks. We can not wait for them to come back in June… I personally am in anticipation to see what Daddy has for us in the future – and I am sure it is special. Thank you God – for bringing those two WOW!!! People in our world. Dinko Zlatarov Mission trip to Sofia, Bulgaria 2014 In February we went to Sofia, Bulgaria with a great expectation, to begin a work with the Care For All Ministries. It has become to be a strong experience in many ways. When we met Dinko Zlatarov we felt welcomed and loved at ones. Care For All, is a good and well-planned ministry with a high focus on humanitarian and evangelistic work, This ministry operates a great deal of time among the Gypsies - the poorest of the poor in Bulgaria. It was amazing to see how Dinko and his team worked among them. Also - it was impressive to see the new established churches that are continually growing, the outreach like giving food and pray for the sick and making children`s street parties give fantastic results. The education work among the children, giving them skills in English and how to use computers will help them increase their carrier development and avoid the mistakes of their surroundings. We can read in Matthew, 25:40 “Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least of these My Brethren, you did it for me.” Care For All is living this, and what we saw was the love of the Father that came true this work. It was a great pleasure for us to see people saved and healed through this week’s work. The people we met, children and the grown-ups were dedicated and in love with Jesus. Through this work we can see the kingdom grow and we recommend Care For All to you to partner with in the Kingdom of God in Bulgaria.
