CHAPTER 2: The main headquarters

To come all the way to US and to not visit the main denominational central officesno can’t do. So I shaved decently, put on a formal outfit (well – for me that means a shirt and khakis anyhowI am so not cut for coats and ties ;-) and I took off to the center of the denominational system.

I was a little early (looks like it is always like this with me) and as soon as I parked my vehicle all of a sudden Hong Yang appeared before me – totally in “Jamie and the Magic torch” style ;-) For those of you who do not know himhe is without a question a true human conglomerate uniting an exceptional intellect, rich personality, passion and an universally big energy battery that never runs out. So as usual this brother began waving his hands explaining with a mil words per second how the Lord keeps on saving literally hundreds of thousands of people every month in his native country of China. When you listen to him you kind of feel like if he does not have 100,000 saved a month he feels like he has wasted his time ;-)  Next year he is set to come minister in our back yard – so get ready Bulgaria!

As usual once you walk into the Church of God World Missions offices and you have to be ready to shake hands and hug everyone there – amazing. Super cool people work there and I was so blessed to get to see them all and to thank them for their hard work, commitment and love which they exhibit for the best interest of us around the face of this planet. They are busy on a daily basis writing, printing, cataloging  and wondering how to manage to finish their work so no one from the people on the field would feel ignored and underappreciated. No kidding – Americans a kinda crazy when it comes to work – they know how to do it!

Since I had an appointment to see our new Director of World Missions – Dr. Tim Hill but as I already mentioned – I came in too early so I decided to spend my time productively so I opened my Bulgarian iPad (notebook) and I began taking notes when suddenly John Childers – his Assistant stood before me and said: “You did not plan to see brother Hill and skip seeing me“ ;-) I followed him to his office and we spent an hour of fellowship. That seemed to have been pre-planned by God since brother Hill was tied up doing some video reporting and I was going to be working on my eyePad for a long time ;-) Now I got to share this with you – this fellow – Bishop Childers turned out to be a super pleasant brother. So much warmth and fatherly care was flowing from his heart that I really felt like staying and sharing more with him – but alasbrother Hill came in and I was immediately transferred into his office.

And it was such a thrill to have finally have the chance for a personal time with our new commander and chief. Ah – I did have the chance to have him ride with me in my car from Romania to Budapest but that was back in 2009 and it was dark after midnightso now in the daylight it was way cooler. Brother Hillalthough never stepped food in Bulgaria has long been there – wonder how? The answer to that lays in the fact that this gentleman, is a geyser in songwriting and has tens of recorded albums. One of the most popular of his songs in Bulgaria is: „He is on the throne“! Well now you know how  ;-)

The following two hours of conversing with this exquisite gentleman went like what it felt in only several minutes. During those moments I managed to steal little but precious data about the generalhim – should I share this with you like that for free?oh wellfreely I have receivedfreely I will pass it on. I found out that Bishop Hill is a wonderful man, that God has not appointed to sit on this high chair by an accident. The Spirit inside of me confirmed what I have heard from friends of mine – that this is a man, who will continue in a noble way the legacy left by the former directors. And this is why I turn to my Bulgarian team accept this blessed brother in the most hospitable manner and may those two short days of his visit remain in his travelling journey as a great and positive memory.

And hey – feed him some shopska salad and juicy pork steaks ;-)

This is what I call a day full of unique encounters and I felt like a fisherman going back home with a chest full of fish ;-)

As a Christian Ministry venturing in Missions we have become comfortable partnering and ministering with groups and families from so many countries… Well so many and yet never before we had the honor to serve the Lord with a family from Norway. So for the first time we were to host Norwegians and we had no idea what to expect and let me tell you right away that Tormod and Anita Olsen - an army of just two literally filled our van, our towns and villages, our world. Since we have never met them before – we were praying that God was sending us at least some normal people to work with but it was such a surprise to discover that they were far from normal – they were as crazy as we are and folks so in love with Jesus and his flock. WOW! A week started and ended like it was just 7 hours – we felt in love with the Olsens seeing how they jumped straight into the deep waters of the Bulgarian ministry context without hesitation and restrains – they began loving on people, ministering with their unique talents and uplifting the hurting people with a contagious spirit of enthusiasm and Jesus love. WOW!! Sofia, Geman, Petrich, Panaguyrishte, Levski, Teteven – day after day the people of Bulgaria from the various churches found their Spiritual Vitamins, encouragement, specific word of God through prophecy, healings, freedom and salvation through the self-sacrificial, giving and warm ministry of these folks. We can not wait for them to come back in June… I personally am in anticipation to see what Daddy has for us in the future – and I am sure it is special. Thank you God – for bringing those two WOW!!! People in our world. Dinko Zlatarov Mission trip to Sofia, Bulgaria 2014 In February we went to Sofia, Bulgaria with a great expectation, to begin a work with the Care For All Ministries. It has become to be a strong experience in many ways. When we met Dinko Zlatarov we felt welcomed and loved at ones. Care For All, is a good and well-planned ministry with a high focus on humanitarian and evangelistic work, This ministry operates a great deal of time among the Gypsies - the poorest of the poor in Bulgaria. It was amazing to see how Dinko and his team worked among them. Also - it was impressive to see the new established churches that are continually growing, the outreach like giving food and pray for the sick and making children`s street parties give fantastic results. The education work among the children, giving them skills in English and how to use computers will help them increase their carrier development and avoid the mistakes of their surroundings. We can read in Matthew, 25:40 “Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least of these My Brethren, you did it for me.” Care For All is living this, and what we saw was the love of the Father that came true this work. It was a great pleasure for us to see people saved and healed through this week’s work. The people we met, children and the grown-ups were dedicated and in love with Jesus. Through this work we can see the kingdom grow and we recommend Care For All to you to partner with in the Kingdom of God in Bulgaria.
