WHY CAREFORALL?
OUR STORY
CareForAll began with a conversation between two friends and grew into a global youth-led movement.
But Founder and President Heman Bekele’s journey started long before CareForAll. Growing up in Ethiopia, he witnessed the harsh realities of limited healthcare access. He saw communities working under difficult conditions with minimal affordable treatment options, experiences that shaped his lifelong commitment to healthcare accessibility and advocacy.
1
Heman and his longtime friend, Will Jordan, shared a deep commitment to health equity. What began as fragmented ideas emerging amongst a conversation in Spanish class quickly evolved into late-night calls, long hours in coffee shops, and countless trials and errors. Despite their minimal prior experience, they developed a vision through persistence and iteration. That process ultimately led to the creation of CareForAll.
2
As their vision grew, they brought together Olivia Greenaway and Jay Patel, two youth leaders with extensive backgrounds in health equity, equally committed to the founding mission of CareForAll. They each contributed distinct perspectives and operational leadership, grounding the founding vision and turning ideas into
practical systems.
3
Together, the four founders turned an abstract idea into an international nonprofit dedicated to mobilizing young people to promote health across global communities. We hope our founding story inspires all members that anything is possible when young people come together with passion, creativity, and a genuine commitment to solving the problems they care about.
The problem
Young people often lack structured pathways to promote health in communities in need.
There is passion and urgency, but minimal support to translate that energy into action.
At the same time, communities around the world are facing
- Deepened health inequities
- Reduced access to care
- Overwhelmed systems
- Declining health literacy
Our solution
CareForAll aims to fill these holes.
We deploy plug-and-play project toolkits that empower students to address real health inequities while learning about their communities’ wellbeing. Members gain practical leadership skills, access mentorship with industry leaders, and formal recognition of their work—all while advancing public health outcomes globally.
